QBO Tech Tip - Reorder Bank Feed Accounts And Collapse

- All of my template workflows include details like this, and my Standard Operating Process Guides are start-to-finish standards for apps and internal processes.

You can reorder the bank accounts in your bank feed screen!

We love things to be “just so”. It’s our nature that everything is ordered correctly, and we count on our orderliness to create efficiency. One of the things that many folks don’t realize you can control is the view of the accounts in the bank feed screen.

It drives me bonkers when I see a new-to-me QBO file and the accounts in the bank feed screen are willy-nilly in the order that QBO has set up. Every client is a little different in how I want to order the accounts. For some, I want to view the accounts grouped by institution, for others, it’s to have them lined up in order of importance, or maybe I want them by account type…

What ever order you want them in, here is how to do it.

1. Collapse the bank feed screen

This is a fun little trick to open up some screen real estate too.

2. Scroll to re-order accounts and open

3. Click edit pencil

4. Drag the accounts in the order you want

5. Make sure you click save!

You may have to scroll back up to see save, so it’s easy to miss this step.

In our QBO files, the little things often make our day working in the files more joyful. To me, this is one of those little things, and if it pushes a button for you, now you know how to fix the bank feed accounts up to the order you want.

  • 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

They say the riches are in the niches, but are they?

Niching can be of tremendous value to your firm by allowing targeted marketing, scalable services, lifestyle business building, tight workflows and technology stacks. But it can also be scary when considering market fluctuations in industry verticals or limited market space if you niche too deeply.

Successfully niching an accounting firm involves careful planning and execution. In this webinar, we will discuss the wins and woes of niching, strategies for creating a niche or ideal client profile and how to become a subject matter expert to grow your base of niche clients.
