#QBConnect – A Session Host’s Perspective

I’ve attended several Intuit’s Connect conferences, and they are “da bomb.”  I would be going again this year even if I wasn’t hosting a session.

The Intuit Conference Team hosted an introduction meeting in August to get all session hosts and speakers lined up on the #QBConnect mission. It was a great eye-opener on how seriously they are taking providing value with this conference to the attendees.

Intuit is making sure all presenters are hyper-focused on the how’s.  Those attendees are going to leave #QBConnect having actionables completed rather than fretting about getting them done later. …or never done…

The attendee experience is Intuit’s number one consideration. Our sessions are geared toward the listener and are not to be “all about Kellie.”  What?!?!

We discussed different learning types and how to make our sessions relatable to all types.

We had a lesson on balancing the CPEs with Qs to keep the educational aspect high while keeping our sessions personal and relatable.

There’s mentoring, one on ones, and workshops. This is by no stretch a “6 feet above” conference.

We have been directed to remind everyone to complete the session surveys. They aren’t just looking for kudos here. If we wasted people’s time, offended or provided little value, they want to know. Did I mention QBConnect is all about the attendees’ experience?

Of course, there are inspirational talks, rally-the-troupes and rah-rah-we-love-intuit aspects. But this is not fluffy stuff. We have to give you a solid, actionable and educational experience.

And the conference team at Intuit is vetting of content and quality of presentations mightily.  We will not be slapping these together by any stretch!

This post doesn’t even begin to touch on all the reasons I love #QBConnect.

I can’t wait to see so many APIAs and my friendies there.  I can’t wait for our morning runs, hugs, collaborating, dancing and dining shenanigans!

But now that I have insight into what goes into the learning, I wanted to share how great that aspect is going to be.

Big takeaway – if you can find a way to fit this into your schedule and budget, you won’t regret it!

Simply yours, Kellie :-}

I want every accounting professional to love running a cloud-based business as much as I do.

Embracing the cloud requires effective best practices, consistent communication, and efficient processes, systems, and workflows. That's why we have dozens of pre-built templates to take the pain out of creating optimization in your firm.

I’m always wondering what you would do more of—outside of work—if processes, automation, and apps gave you your life back.
