CPB Ignite

Ready - Replenish - Rise

CPB Canada is gearing up for the IGNITE 2022 Conference in Calgary, Alberta from Tuesday, September 20, 2022 - Friday, September 23, 2022.

We welcome you back in-person to engage in presentations, share successes and lessons learned, interact with speakers, and network with fellow attendees.

Join us in Calgary while we cultivate new ideas, receive practical advice, and make meaningful connections along the way!

I will do a Google session and “Graceful Endings”, a Client Dis-Engagement session.

Using Google to Vet Prospects, Onboard and Manage Your Client Boundaries and Collaborate on Workflows

Yes, Google can do all this - and it's either free or included in your Google Workspace plan! Let's dive into how to have Google do some heavy lifting for you - some of it automagically - using Forms, Sheets and Slides.

1. We will dig into the format bar for all 3 applications

2. We will walk through Google Forms - cause forms should be an integral part of your business

3. We will check out how to build a “full-year” collaborative workflow in Google Sheets - one Sheet with all the client tasks - for them - and firm work for you - in a single Sheet

4. We will cover how to use Google Slides for YE summaries with outside tax prep, proposals and client employee onboarding

Even if you are not a ""Googler"" you will be able to translate the same concepts to non-Google applications such as Excel, PPT, Canva and Typeform.

Graceful Endings - Disengaging Clients Respectfully

It’s time to say goodbye to a client. And no matter the reason for the goodbyes, a graceful ending is always in order.

There are many steps to dis-engage a client and you must get through them in a timely and thorough manner. Dragging it out, miscommunication, repeating requests, and forgetting steps can make a messy affair out of even the most cordial ending.

In this session, we will walk through a workflow to disengage a cloud-based accounting relationship.

  1. What steps are necessary to close/rehome with the applications

  2. What steps are necessary to close/rehome with the clients

  3. What contracts and communications need to be dispatched

  4. The “if this then that” scenarios of closing a file where the client doesn’t get all their tasks completed

Let’s discuss how you can make this process a harmonious one for all parties.
