QBO Tech Tip - Keyboard Shortcuts For Advancing Dates

Toggle quickly through dates using keyboard shortcuts.
This week’s QuickBooks Online tip is one that many of you may know. But if I can add QBO efficiency and joy to even a few of you out there, how great would that be!? TBH, I was surprised by the feedback a few weeks ago from so many folks who didn’t realize they could re-order the bank accounts in the bank feed screen - proving you never know what someone may not know!
This is a trick in QuickBooks Online that I absolutely love: advancing date fields without entering numerals or using your mouse.
"No mousing around".
You can do it straight from your keyboard. It is simply executed by hitting one key on your keyboard, and it looks like this.
You go into the date range field, and let's say you want to get to the beginning of a year. You would hit the Y button because the Y is the first letter of the word Year.
To get to the end of that yeaR hit R because that is the last letter. If you want to keep going back through, continue hitting R until you get to the year you want.
One of the other ones that I love is if you hit T for Today, it takes you through to today's date.
Then, if you want to scroll back through a few weeks, you would hit W, the first letter of the word Week. To keep going through the weeks, keep hitting W, and that'll take you there.
If you want to get scrolling the other way through weeKs, hit K, the last letter.
And then there is Month. This is the one that I use all the time, and if you just keep hitting M, it will take you back through the preceding months.
And if you want to go the other direction and advance to the next montH, keep hitting H because that is the last letter of the montH.

I am so hooked on advancing dates using this little trick that I find myself doing it in my other apps - but to no avail!
I know this is a feature that many pro advisors use and love, but if I help only a few of you discover this fun little keyboard shortcut, I will be a happy gal.
